[Mondo-devel] bigdir out of space

Stanislav Tokoš
Hello everyone,

I get this error message on openSuse(Leap42.2):

INFO: locale=xmodmap
INFO: mappath =
WARNING: Keyboard mapping file not found. Default keyboard map will be used.
FATAL ERROR. Cannot copy /bin/dbus-send to
/mnt/mondo-backup/test/mondo.tmp.RbmSmb/bigdir - did you run out of disk
space?
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
Please e-mail a copy of /var/log/mindi.log to the mailing list.

Do you have any hint how to fix it?

There are more details:

1. I use this command.

mondoarchive -O -p linux-k2ln -i -N -g -s 4300m -d
/mnt/mondo-backup/test -T /mnt/mondo-backup/test -S /var/tmp/

The backup dir is located on NFS filesystem.

2. I am working with these packages.

linux-ppx4:~/rpm # ls
afio-2.5-35.x86_64.rpm    mindi-3.2.2-1.x86_64.rpm
mindi-busybox-1.21.1-1.x86_64.rpm

perl-MondoRescue-3.3.0-0.20170117205852.noarch.rpm
mindi-3.0.2-1.x86_64.rpm  mindi-3.3.0-0.20170117205852.x86_64.rpm
mondo-3.2.2-1.x86_64.rpm perl-MondoRescue-3.2.2-1.noarch.rpm
perl-ProjectBuilder-0.14.5-1.noarch.rpm

The error is same!!!

Thanks

Stanislav

Hello Stanislav,

Try to use these mondoarchive options: -S (scratch) and -T (temp)

By default Mondoarchive creates scratch and temporary working directories in / partition ; if "out of discspace", use -S and -T options to use another partition. Scratch directory will contain twice the size of the iso just after creating it.

mondoarchive man : http://www.mondorescue.org/docs/mondoarchive.8.html

Hello Victor,

thanks for your tip. I didn't mentioned it I have already tried this
command too:

linux-ppx4:~ # mondoarchive -O -p linux-k2ln -i -N -g -s 4300m -d
/mnt/mondo-backup/test -T /mnt/mondo-backup/test -S
/mnt/mondo-backup/test -E /mnt/mondo-backup

mount point /mnt/mondo-backup is NFS filesystem.

I unfortunately get this error message:

INFO: -------FATAL ERROR---------

/mnt/mondo-backup/test/mondo.tmp.mXuWmO/mondo-run-prog-thing.err
INFO: --------------------------------start of

I don't think I have full disks by the way:

linux-ppx4:~ # df -h

/mnt/mondo-backup
tmpfs                                      301M     0  301M   0% /run/user/0

I have already tried resize /dev/shm too:

linux-ppx4:~ # cat /etc/fstab |grep -v "#"

Re: [Mondo-devel] bigdir out of space

Gattegno, Victor (GSD CSC / GCC)-2
Hello again Stanislav,

I have backuped successfully in the past some SLES11 through NFS, but with mondoarchive -n option, and with local (not on NFS) -S (scratch) and -T (temp) separated directories.

Here is a script example of NFS backup with -n option:
http://trac.mondorescue.org/wiki/Documentation#Backup

Concerning logs, you can check /var/log/mondoarchive.log.

Regards,
Victor

You are listing 2 versions of mindi here...

And I don't know which one is use here :-(
Where did you get the packages from ?

THat's also interesting :-(

Try to increase this to see if that solves your issue (with mindi.conf)

That's another problem I need to look at however.
