[Mondo-devel] RHEL 7.2 mondorestore MBR extended partitions fail

William Montgomery
Hi All,

I have the same problem as reported by volker (2016-06-06).

RHEL 7.2
mondo: mondo-3.2.2-1.rhel7.x86_64

Unfortunately, reverting to 3.2.1-1 does not work for me - I get a syslinux problem that isolinux.bin is not found.

My expected partition list:
Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sda1   *        2048     1026047      512000   83  Linux
/dev/sda2         1026048   252684287   125829120   83  Linux
/dev/sda3       252684288   504342527   125829120   83  Linux
/dev/sda4       504342528  1953523711   724590592    5  Extended
/dev/sda5       504346624   609204223    52428800   83  Linux
/dev/sda6       609206272   651149311    20971520   83  Linux
/dev/sda7       651151360   693094399    20971520   83  Linux
/dev/sda8       693096448   693161983       32768   82  Linux swap / Solaris

On restore sda5-sda8 do not get created.

Looking at the attached mondorestore.log and at the source code it appears that the fdisk wrapper mr-parted2fdisk does not produce output that mondo-prep.c can interpret for "last_line_of_file(FDISK_LOG)".

I am proficient at C and perl and would be happy to help fix this.  I don't want to duplicate effort if someone is already working on it.  Please let me know how I can help.

Regards,
Wm
