[Mondo-devel] [Mondo] Bug on Mondoarchive - Debian 5

DUBOURG Kevin

Hello,

I had a bug when i try to do a mondoarchive.

uname- a => Linux rez1.rezoo.fr 2.6.24.2-xxxx-std-ipv4-32 #4 SMP Wed Feb 13 16:50:04 CET 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

I specify my own Kernel on configuration. In the log we can see many "Fatal error" ...

Below the log file with the error :

Re: [Mondo-devel] [Mondo] Bug on Mondoarchive - Debian 5

Gattegno, Victor (GSD CSC / GCC)
Hi Kevin,

Well, we know that you're using :
  • Debian 5
  • 2.6.24.2-xxxx-std-ipv4-32 #4 SMP ... i686 GNU/Linux
  • Mindi 2.0.7.3-r2622
Mindi is called by mondoarchive, and mindi logs are added in mondoarchive.log too.

We can see two errors in the mindi logs that you emailed :

1.
Creating vfat filesystem on /home/mondo.tmp.n3TB5G/mindi-bootroot.16384.img
mkfs.vfat 3.0.1 (23 Nov 2008)
Cannot mount (PBDI)

If we look in the /usr/sbin/mindi file (it's a shell-script), it matches:
 mkdosfs $imagefile >> $LOGFILE 2>> $LOGFILE
 mount -t vfat -o loop $imagefile $mountpoint || LogIt "Cannot mount (PBDI)"
You could check your mkdosfs and mkfs.vfat through locate and "ls -ls".
On my Ubuntu 8.04, /sbin/mkfs.vfat is a link to /sbin/mkdosfs.

Maybe the mkdosfs failed to create the "imagefile", or the "mount -t vfat -o loop" failed...

2.
FATAL ERROR. Cannot unmount mountpoint (/home/mondo.tmp.n3TB5G/mountpoint.20877)

If we look in the mindi sources, it matches:
 umount $mountpoint || Die "Cannot unmount mountpoint ($mountpoint)"
If "imagefile" was not mounted in 1., it cannot be umounted in 2. ...

To check what's happening, you could add in /usr/sbin/mindi, line 2:
   set -x
then you could run /usr/sbin/mindi and put the result in result.txt like the following:
   script result.txt
   /usr/sbin/mindi
   exit

Then you'll be able to check - in result.txt - what could be the problem with these mkdosfs, mkfs.vfat, mount and umount...

Regards,
Victor
