[Mondo-devel] Mindi missing grub.conf file

Marco Marino
Hi, I'm trying to do a full image backup with mondoarchive but I have an error:

Calling MINDI to create boot+data disks
xxxx.yyyyy.it-fd JobId 12043: ClientRunBeforeJob: Fatal error... The de facto standard location for your boot loader's config file is /boot/grub/menu.lst, /boot/grub/grub.cfg, or /boot/grub2/grub.cfg /boot/efi/.../grub.cfg but I cannot find it there. What is wrong with your Linux distribution?

Package's versions
[root@smtp ~]# rpm -qa | grep mondo
mondo-3.2.2-1.rhel6.x86_64

[root@smtp ~]# rpm -qa | grep mindi
mindi-3.0.2-1.rhel6.x86_64
mindi-busybox-1.21.1-1.rhel6.x86_64

[root@smtp ~]# which mkisofs
/usr/bin/mkisofs
[root@smtp ~]# mkisofs --version
mkisofs 2.01 is not what you see here. This line is only a fake for too clever
GUIs and other frontend applications. In fact, this program is:
genisoimage 1.1.9 (Linux)
[root@smtp ~]#

Kernel version:
[root@smtp ~]# uname -a
Linux xxxx.yyyyy.it 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Sep 9 21:36:05 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[root@smtp ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 6.8 (Final)

The problem is related to the fact that grub.conf is missing. I have a broken symlink:
[root@smtp ~]# ls -alh /etc/grub.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 May 19  2015 /etc/grub.conf -> ../boot/grub/grub.conf
[root@smtp ~]#

The only file on the machine is :
[root@smtp ~]# ls -alh /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.efi
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 249K Mar 22  2016 /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.efi

and it seems to be enough for the boot. The problem is that mindi doesn't work. So my question is: is there a way to use mindi with grub.efi? Or is there some way to adjust the grub.conf file?

Thank you,
Marco

So it seems your UEFI conf wasn't detected.
I'd need to know which version you used and have access to the log files to help more.

Sorry, I know the version, so you should probably try the beta of 3.3.0 in your case available at ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/test
But next time, please send logs as well.
