[Mondo-devel] Mindi CD fails to boot my system

Mark Burnison
I followed the instruction in FAQ11 to install the latest versions of Mondo/Mindi (2.2.9.2/2.0.7.2) on my Ubuntu 9.04 system. Then following section 5, Tests, in the MondoRescue HOWTO guide, I created a test mindi CD. When I tried to boot my system with the CD, it stops part way through the boot process with the following lines:

Preparing the udev environment...
Waiting for udev to discover...
udevadm[171]: error sending message: Connection refused

The mindi out display (see below) indicated a problem with perl and tar. Perl 5.10.0 and tar 1.20 are installed on my system. I also attached the mindi.log file (zip'ed).

Is this a bug or do I need to use a special option to get mindi to create a bootable CD?

Mindi display output:
