[Mondo-devel] Centos 7 - mondorestore - partitioning

volker
Hi there,

I've got some problems with mondorestore.
An error occured during disk partitioning.

After the partitioning process in mondorestore, the partition table is different to the clon system.
So the backup can not be restored.

Partition Table (expected):
/dev/sda1   *        2048      387071      192512   83  Linux
/dev/sda2          387072    11214847     5413888   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda3        11214848   490350671   239567912    5  Extended
/dev/sda5        11216896    55605247    22194176   83  Linux
/dev/sda6        55607296    99995647    22194176   83  Linux
/dev/sda7        99997696   144386047    22194176   83  Linux
/dev/sda8   *   144388096   321777663    88694784   83  Linux

Partitiontable after mondorestore partitioning process:
/dev/sda1   *        2048      387071      192512   83  Linux
/dev/sda2          387072    11214847     5413888   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda3        44388352   490350671   222981160   83  Linux
/dev/sda4   *    11214848    44388351    16586752   83  Linux

OS:
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)

Mondo-Version
mondo-3.2.2-1.rhel7.x86_64
mindi-3.0.2-1.rhel7.x86_64

It'll be great if anyone can help. Thanks in advance.

Regards
Volker

I'm facing the same trouble, restoring centos5 and debian (different
versions).

As you have (probably) noted, there's some trouble in restoring
extended partition, so logical one, and partition stop exausting
phisical ones (that are max 4).

For now, i'm switching to VT2, do partition by hand, and then proceed
selecting 'erase disk' -> no.

Hi,

I have the same problem see my post "Mindi failed on CentOS 7.2", I think this can be the problem with capacity of your disk (is it larger then 2TB?) this ist the limitation on fdisk command that can work only with disks smaller then 2TBs.

Hi,

thanks for your help but the size is only 500MB.

I downgrade the mondo version to
mondo-3.2.1-1.rhel7.x86_64
and everything works fine

kind regards
Volker
