[Mondo-devel] Cannot restore from nfs mount

Nikolaos Milas
Hello,

On a CentOS 7 box I have two NFS mounts (/etc/fstab):

10.201.40.34:/data/col1/noc-bkups-1   /mnt/dd2500-1   nfs
auto,noatime,nolock,bg,nfsvers=3,intr,tcp,actimeo=1800 0 0
10.201.40.34:/data/col1/hesperia-mount   /hesperiamount nfs
auto,noatime,nolock,bg,nfsvers=3,intr,tcp,actimeo=1800 0 0

I have taken a backup using the following mini script:

Newdir2a=/mnt/dd2500-1
Newdir2b=hesperia1/mondo-`hostname`-`date +%Y-%m-%d`
Newdir2=$Newdir2a/$Newdir2b
mkdir $Newdir2
mondoarchive -O -n "nfs://10.201.40.34:/data/col1/noc-bkups-1" -d
$Newdir2b -I / -E "/mnt" -9

The backup has been completed and is available (as expected) at:

/mnt/dd2500-1/hesperia1/mondo-hesperia1.astro.noa.gr-2017-03-27/

Now I am trying to restore (for testing purposes) some files from this
backup, but I cannot manage to do so.

I am running "mondorestore", I select "Read from: Net Mount" and when
prompted for: "Network shared dir." I give:

    10.201.40.34:/data/col1/noc-bkups-1

Then, (after accepting nfs protocol) when asked for the Network Share, I
tried:

    /data/col1/noc-bkups-1

(I leave the user field empty.)

I also tried multiple other combinations (in some of them I added the
path: hesperia1/mondo-hesperia1.astro.noa.gr-2017-03-27/) but I always
get the message:

    "Please mount that partition before you
    try to backup to or restore from it."

and the mondorestore process is ended.

What am I doing wrong? Which should be the correct parameters?

I finally attempted a restore using the Hard Disk option (since the nfs
mount is already locally mounted, I thought it could work) but in this
case I cannot even put the path, because the backup dir path won't fit
in the available field space!

Please help.

Thanks,
Nick
